I received an invitation to join an MLM but I do not want to. What is the best way to refute this invitation without being rude to the osob shm associated with me?

When someone offers you an MLM deal and you do not want to pursue that, just thank them for that and inform them of your decision. For instance, you could say, ‘I appreciate your offer but I have made a decision based on the fact that I do not think this will be helpful for my plans at present. Thank you for your cooperation’. One should stand their position so as not to create room for misinterpretations but at the same time, the approach should be diplomatic.

the biggest take away for me, has been learning how to say "No", "thanks but no thanks", if youre somebody who is afraid to come across rude etc, I think there can be a tendency to be overly accommodating for people, its okay to say "NO", thanks for sharing your experiances!

thank you, currently have a friend trying to recruit my friends and I am starting to loose my patience with him, and I am very tempted to slap him in the face

I ended it with a clear voice mail to my upline:
"Hey Bill! I'm no longer interested in being a mindless drone for Amway anymore. I'm done! Two things you ought to know though -- do not try to contact me and this phone will self destruct after this call. Bye-bye!"

Thanks for sharing your experience! I was in an MLM in the early 90’s called Melaluca. They still have great products that I occasionally still buy, but the recruiting side of it wasn’t for me.
I think your were okay to ghost your up line. They usually resort to gaslighting their down line when they express interest in leaving and guilt them into staying. It doesn’t make you a bad person for ghosting them, it was better for you to practice self care mentally and emotionally and make a clean break. If they were your true friends they would still be in your life, Amway or not.

Best way to leave Amway or any other MLM, Pyramid Scheme is to just ghost them.  You did the right thing. They will try to suck you back in by giving you a guilt trip or they will ghost you.

Even I have been caught in that snare. And I've been feeling guilty. But my friends who know me well clearly assured me that I always had good intentions, which I did. So I am walking away.
