Friendship, the oldest form of relationship between human beings, is the most dependable ‘substitute’ for predictability in relationships with others. The knowledge that your friends will be there provides a sense of security because friendship means support. Such kinds of predictability swing off the alertness circuits of the brain allowing the higher stems of thinking to be reorganized to have more space for invention and being attached to people.

It’s so interesting that ever since a good friend of mine told me she needs to hit pause on our friendship, which has caused me to really think deeper about friendships, what’s wrong with me, what did I do wrong, etc., the more YouTube is showing me so many things about relationships and friendships. I’ve been pretty sad about this situation I’m in but making me look deeper at myself and what I truly want in a friend.
