Stress can clarify depleting the levels of GABA as it involves the utilization of the stress related neurotransmitters for instance glutamate. In times of stress, these neurotransmitters are consumed at an increased rate which creates a deficiency of GABA since it is produced from glutamate. This deficit may lead to a state when the individual is unable to relax and recover, hence the GABA symptoms emerge.

01:28  GABA and glutamate account for 80% of neurotransmission in the brain, emphasizing the significance of their balance for optimal brain function.
02:10 ⚠️ GABA deficiency syndrome is linked to a range of symptoms like depression, anxiety, stress, poor sleep, and mood instability, underscoring the need for maintaining adequate GABA levels.
04:18  Stress and infection can deplete GABA, pointing to the importance of managing stress to maintain mental health.
05:13 ️ Diet plays a crucial role in GABA production, with glutamine-rich foods like meat being essential for maintaining healthy neurotransmitter levels.
08:44 ‍♂️ Activities like meditation and breathwork can enhance GABA production, highlighting non-pharmaceutical approaches to improving mental health.
11:48  Herbal remedies like valerian root and Cava Cava positively affect GABA receptors, offering natural alternatives for managing stress and anxiety.

Stress leads to GABA depletion. As alcohol and benzos work on the GABA receptors in the brain, it’s no surprise that alcoholism and addiction are so common in those with chronically stressful lives.

As a former heavy drinker I can attest to the Gaba Glutamate swings and dysfunction they cause when out of balance.

Would this glycine and nac work for someone who has severe brain fog and memory and cognitive deciline?
I actually thought/think I have severe ad onset.
This content has explained exactly how stress can cause turmoil in our brains and body and it starts with digestion problems.
Only 5y ago I was sharp as a button, but then sadly found out my wife was terminally ill, 4y later she died in my arms, which has of course caused me so much stress, she was my soulmate and we were together since kids.
20y ago I was a specialist builder and could do so much, I was an out the box thinker and people employed me as a troubleshooter. In the 80s I iQ tested in the 94% range, which is rather strange as I missed much of my schooling between ages of 11-16y

I’ve always known I was super sensitive to MSG.. yet there were all those articles saying it was fine and the worries were blown out of proportion.. yet every time I accidentally ate it I’d get dehydrated and wouldn’t be able to sleep, sometimes it would make my kidneys ache! I’d be able to tell without knowing what had gone into a meal, whether it had MSG in based just on my body’s response. So it wasn’t psychosomatic.

Finally this content has explained the mechanism, makes perfect sense. I’m sensitive to nervous system strain so an effect on GABA is obvious.
Thanks for the info. Nice to know I wasn’t imagining things
So helpful.
