Prior to making a purchase, I must convey that I came across some issues related to the base M2 Mac Mini model. What do I need to keep in mind?

The base model M2 Mac Mini has no more than 8 gigabytes of RAM, and its storage fails to exceed 256 gigabytes which some users may find limiting. Users planning to go beyond basic computing functions like creating content or using high-end applications may struggle with the capacity of the base specifications. Such factors as Bluetooth connection, the power of processors and the amount of available storage might hinder performance. It is advisable to think of purchasing such upgrades as at least 16 gigabytes RAM and 512 gigabytes of storage so as to avoid such issues and be prepared for the future.

Suppose your only intensive use is ZOOM (which overheats my Intel Mac Mini)? Is plain M2 OK?

I’m curious to see if there is 1 256 nand chip or 2 128 nand in the base model

The only thing i agree with you on, is getting a 8GB of RAM model. But other than that, for most people, the M2 will fly through pretty much any tasks. Though i also had issues with the Bluetooth capabilities on my M1 mini. Partially why i sold it.

Base model should have been 16GB/512GB @ $699 or $799. Shouldn't have to spend $400 to get a base model that will be useable for 3 years. 8GB/256GB is obsolete in 2023. The $1299 model is the only "off the shelf" Mini worth buying. But it's no longer an entry level computer.

The base model of all M2 Macs only has a 256 Gb none upgradable SSD. Not only is this too little but more importantly selecting this configuration will result in a slow system. This is because in all 256 Gb M2 Macs there is only one and not two Flash memory modules soldered onto its motherboard. This halves the rate of data transfer to the SSD by comparison with any entry level M1 Mac. I would like to beg all purchasers of any M2 Mac to pay an extra $200 for a 512 Gb SSD to create a balanced fast system.
