With the new Apple Watch OS, are there any features designed to facilitate marathon training?

Copy that! Tracking training load stress can be tough particularly in a regime where data is largely self-reported. It lets users determine how much weight they should be lifting and whether they are doing enough or too much. However, such processes always have their limitations. That’s why I picked this case of the Apple Watch OS 11 Material – it has been recently developed by Apple.

Garmin is a run/bike/swim focused wearable, that is their primary focus, anything outside of those three things is window dressing where they make a cute little gesture in all other areas to appease the rest of the world of health and fitness.  And while they still beat Apple, it's obvious Apple is closing the gap, and will replace them if they don't get new leadership.

So are you really using the AW to train for the NYC or your Fenix?

I have an Ultra 1 and a Garmin Forerunner 945, I’m running the Chicago marathon next month, which one do you recommend in terms of GPS accuracy?

I went from a Garmin Fenix 5 to the Apple Watch Ultra 2. I'm a big fan of the Ultra but from a fitness standpoint it's still not near Garmin's functionality. Even simple things are missing like building a run workout within the Fitness app to then integrate with the watch. If I want a custom run workout, I have to either build it on the watch or go looking for a third party app.

Been waiting for target pace for a run workout. Garmin had this for ever and last time i checked this was not on the Apple watch. Do we have this now? I'd rather buy an Ultra than pay the ridculous price for a Fenix 8. But target pace is a must have...

Been a little confused with training load, 3rd party apps pull in data from the past and work can give you info but with training load you have to use it for 28 days. Plus you have to use Apple’s apps for it to automatically do the effort thing, which I would use Apple’s workout app but since I have tattoos I have to turn off a setting which would then cause it to not be able to record sleep, which the vitals app won’t count data from 3rd party apps even though it shows up in the health settings.

Let’s stop pretending Apple cares about marathoners, when they obviously don’t. Less than one percent of the population runs a marathon why would Apple cater to them much less ultramarathoners. Just because you put scott jurek in a commercial doesn’t mean that you actually cater to his fan base. They’re gonna do what they’re gonna do, either roll with it or whatever.
most people that wear Apple Watch as an endurance athlete wear a primary watch , and the Apple Watch is secondary. It’s just the matter of fact.

Can you swim with Apple Watch?

It pains me to say it, but let's be honest .. it's garbage. I'm an Apple Ultra owner and I am seriously considering jumping ship to Garmin.

The Watch OS 11 updates are so lack luster, Training load does not compare to the metrics offered by Garmin and the additional map features still dont integrate into the Workout app .. so in a real world use case who the heck is using Apple Maps for Topographic guidance or trails runs or mountain hikes..... very very disappointing, and rant over sorry guys :)
