I have recently acquired a Garmin Edge bicycle computer, however, it seems to be quite over-zealous in delivering alerts. Is there a way to eliminate those that are unnecessary?

If you want to limit the alerts you receive while cycling using your Garmin Edge, go to the profile settings for each of your bikes which include; road, gravel, mountain, and indoor bikes, and revise the alerts and prompts. For instance, the auto lap, sharp corner caution, high traffic road condition, and rough terrain are just a few of the alerts that may be disabled. The same can be said for system-wide settings for turning off recovery time alerts, current performance, new VO2 max notifications, and effect of training notifications. This will help you remain undistracted by your device while cycling.

Just made most of your suggested changes to my 1040.  I am interested in getting rid of virtual partner as well.  Setting up gears on Garmin from SRAM Rival AXS would be of interest.

I turned Tones off then I didn't notice all the other alerts. but I think I will have to go thru the Garmin with the aid of this vid :) great work,

Thank you heaps. Up until this vid I thought the “Lap Banner” couldn’t be switched off. I’ve found that “nanny nag” really annoying as it pops up at really inconvenient times taking up a fair chunk of the screen and for some time too.

Thanks for reminding me / informing me I could remove Performance Condition alerts and adjust the "Glances" on the homescreen to remove the useless suggested workout and garmin coaching.

Is there a good way to remove the new road hazard popovers?

The autolap at each km is truly the most annoying and useless thing they auto-enable on every Garmin device!

most annoying thing is "warning unpaved road" warning ! while i'm in a big city ! and I saw that message every 20-30 seconds ! I don't know even where those roads were.

VP is as useful as teats on a bull. An annoying distraction. Please how can I disable it .  As well I really appreciate these helpful tips and pointers.  I am about to configure 30 units for a tour group and knowing how to keep the profile screen as simple as possible is vital.  Thanks.
