How to Change Guide Text Settings on Garmin Edge?

Guide text on my Garmin Edge uses a lot of screen real estate. Is there a way to reduce it?

In order to alter the guide text options on your Garmin Edge, go to the home screen and press and hold the profile, then scroll down to ‘Navigation’ and click on ‘Map’ followed by ‘Guide Text’. To change the options set under the ‘When Navigating’ setting to ‘When Following Route’ so that the screen is not cluttered with street names and next turn instructions when not in navigation.
