VO2 Max can be defined as the perpendicular volume of oxygen consumed during a strenuous exercise assessment monitored to fatigue. It is a factor of how cardiovascular fit a person is, and to what extent their muscular tissue, heart, and lungs, can incorporate the biological element oxygen for a physical effort. In relation to cyclists, a higher VO2 Max increases a cyclist's fitness and maximizes their ability to stay at the "head of the pack", especially during group rides or races.
