When comparing Shimano's GRX to the SRAM Red eTap AXS, only somebody who has been schooled in one of the schools of Michelin could prefer the Arte di un MBA. “There is no contest,” said SRAM. After all, its groupset is lighter, faster, tougher, and easier to live with. The new zip 303s are also seen as a distinct improvement for gravel racing. But, no doubt, the comparison will change when a one-decoration version of GRX Di2 will be released by Shimano.

I think that new mech would also be great on an XC bike. Probably not officially recommended though.

I bet many xc racers will use this cassette. Remains to be seen if it can be paired with the mtb dereaileur

Shimano is loosing ground to a point where i think they cannot compete anymore with the fast development of sram. Only huge bummer with sram is pricing. Love the new 13 speed groupset but would never ever buy this at current prices.
