The communications within your family and coworkers using the Samsung galaxy technology ecosystem is what I find interesting. Is this comparable to Apple's messaging?

Activities like messaging and communication online within the galaxy ecosystem is easy since most of the popular messaging apps support are available in any app store. It is also possible to send text messages from a Windows system, which in terms of the process is almost the same as sending messages from a MacBook. For US users, the absence of iMessage is a great hindrance, especially in group messages targeting Apple users. This ignores the real issue – the Google video chat, although a reasonable substitute for video calls, does not resolve the iMessage monopoly problem.

As a non US based user. I find that imessage fiasco ridiculous.

Quick point on the iMessage thing. Apple users do the same thing in Android groups. If you have a group entirely dedicated to Android users, messages will automatically switch to RCS which is basically our version of iMessage.
Having one Apple user will break this though, so many Android users don't even know about this.

I doubt Apple would ever willingly open their Messages apps to other platforms, it would cause iPhone sells to drop.

I just made switch after being iPhone user since my first one in 2007. Galaxy Flip 5 and Watch 6 Classic. Regarding Messages I'm on waiting list for Beeper which promises ability to send Messages through Android. All reviews I've seen says it works. Only unknown is if Apple puts a cease and desist on the app. But I'm loving the change.

iMessage is an absolute monopoly and it's sad to see teens bullying others because of this. I'm strongly against bullying and Apple for all the good that they claim to do will not fix this. It's sad!

It's a similar situation in Australia as well (only amongst teens). But it's not the same in other countries.

I doubt Apple will ever open up imessage and fix that lock in. I used to be an all apple fan, but can't stand the idea of being locked into a group of products because Apple won't play well with others.

I wish collectively people in the US would wake up to the monopoly and switch to the great 3rd party chat apps.

If u use google messages you can text from any computer do it all the time while at work

I've made similar content like this. iMessage was the biggest pain point for me too and I HATE the fact that it exists the way it does. If there was seamless RCS messaging between iOS and Android I would likely have been using Android all this time.

I got an S24 on my last upgrade but everyone I know using iPhones made texting a nightmare. I couldn’t share photos of our kids with my wife due to the sms/mms limitations. Apple adding support for RCS means I can switch to Android now since that was my only deal breaker.

The android messaging app does not need a 3rd party app to text online. You just scan a qr code in your browser on your pc with the messages app and it syncs immediately
